PDL BioPharma (Nasdaq: PDLI) 3.5% HIGHER; co-founder Cary Queen, Ph.D disclosed a letter to the company supporting the proposals of hedge fund Third Point LLC for a new direction at PDL that emphasizes efficiency, focus on product development, and profitability, under the leadership of a new Chief Executive Officer. Third Point, run by Daniel Loeb, has been pushing for a sale of the company among other things.
